Lance Carter is intense by default. He reacts quickly, argues directly and has very little patience for hesitation, excuses or half-measures.
That makes him difficult at times — but also dependable in the ways that matter. Once Lance decides someone is his responsibility, he shows up, even if he complains the entire time.
He is competitive because he hates holding back, not because he needs applause. Underneath the temper is someone fiercely loyal to his people, his garage and the small routines he would never describe as sentimental.
Lance rarely says he cares. Usually, he is already doing something about it.

Raven Black is Lance’s CSX machine — aggressive, direct and built to respond without hesitation.
The car suits the way he drives. Inputs are sharp, reactions are immediate, and commitment matters more than comfort.
Lance does not wait for the car to reassure him. He expects it to keep up.

Lance does not become softer away from racing. He simply becomes easier to read if you know where to look.
HOME BEFORE THE BOWL IS EMPTY
Lance can ignore a message, skip dinner and argue with half the city. Being late to feed his cat is apparently unacceptable.
FIX IT NOW
If something is loose, rattling or obviously wrong, Lance will stop what he is doing and deal with it immediately. Waiting until tomorrow is not a concept he respects.
STAYING COUNTS
Lance is not particularly good at comforting people. He is, however, very good at staying until the problem is over.
